Accessibility
“Hijos de Rivera S.A.U.” strives to ensure that the presentation of all essential content and functionalities of the website is independent of the physical devices and web browsers used for this purpose, coded with free and open-source technical standards, and accessible to browsers adapted for people with sensory, motor, or cognitive limitations.
The content is in XHTML format – a hypertext typesetting language, an open standard developed and recommended by the W3C, the Web Consortium.
The elements that constitute the content (images, text, structures, links) are written in accordance with the priority level of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Style sheets (CSS, another W3C standard) are used to assign presentation formats and to distribute content and links on the pages.
It is recommended to use the most recent versions of browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Konqueror, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.
The European Union, in the Council resolution of March 25, 2002, encouraged Member States to take into account the need for digital content to be accessible. Following this recommendation, Law 34/2002, of July 11, on information society services and electronic commerce, stipulates that public administrations shall adopt the necessary measures to ensure that the information available on their websites is accessible to persons with disabilities and the elderly, in accordance with generally recognized content accessibility criteria, before December 31, 2005.
In line with this objective, the design of the "Hijos de Rivera S.A.U." website has been carried out taking into account the accessibility recommendations for the first priority level of the W3C's WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) guidelines.
